The 7th Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival which will run right across Limerick City and County, from Saturday 1st April to Friday 7th April, 2017. It will feature an exciting line up of over 200 events, all of which are FREE and open to all.
The Showcase in Mary Immaculate College will open festival week on Saturday 1st April offering a wide range of interactive events, activities and workshops – providing a snapshot of what the whole festival week entails.
The Festival is being presented by the Learning Limerick Steering Group, which is representative of all the main stakeholders involved in promoting learning across Limerick.
The festival’s theme is ‘Communities, Connecting, Learning’. Learning is promoted as fun with events including performances, taster sessions, tours, displays, lectures, walks, demonstrations and workshops. They take place right across Limerick in a variety of venues indoors and out, including on water, and in libraries, museums, resource, family & community centres, parks, on the streets.
The festival is supported by a strong PR/Media campaign. As well as promoting the festival through brochures, flyers distributed across Limerick, Website, Social Media, it is also supported by the Limerick Leader & Live 95FM as its media sponsors.
If you would like to run an event during festival week: -
Groups and individuals all across Limerick are invited to host events - groups can work together to run an event(s), many in their local communities, opening up their premises to the public to come in and discover the opportunities for learning available all year round.
The coordinating group for the festival can assist with ideas around engaging events, suitable venues, and tips for promoting your own events.
Individual event organisers are also asked to advertise their own event(s) and in particular with their own local target groups.

Would you like to be involved in the Mary Immaculate College Showcase?
A variety of activities, including performances, taster sessions, displays, tours, demonstrations and short workshops, will take place in the exhibition areas and in the break-out rooms.
Your activity should to be interactive, and actively involve the learner. Activities should have a number (2 – 3) of learning outcomes.
Some short taster sessions /workshops (15 – 20 minutes duration) will take place in the break-out rooms.
The coordinating team will assist you in the planning for the Showcase event, and on the day, with your space and any technical requirements for your learning activity.

There will be a large family-friendly Showcase event held in Mary Immaculate College on Saturday1st April.
