The Limerick Writers’ Centre Presents The January 2017 ‘On The Nail’ Literary Gathering

This months guests are author David Murphy and poet Kathryn Keane

David Murphy’s most recent book Walking on Ripples was published by the Liffey Press in 2014 – his first book to feature non-fiction. Previous work includes a contemporary fantasy novella Bird of Prey (2011), Arkon Chronicles (also a novella, 2003) and the well received novel Longevity City (2005), each of which was published in the USA. His story collection “Lost Notes” was re-printed in Dublin in 2013 by Aeon Press.

Kathryn Keane is a Mary I student of English, history and adulthood, her poetry has previously appeared in'Silver Apples Magazine', the 'NY Literary Magazine' and 'Bitterzoet Magazine'. She was one of the first poets ever to perform poetry at Thoor  Ballylee at the 2016 Tower Poetry Slam, has reached the final of the Munster Slam Heats for the All-Ireland Poetry Slam and has previously performed at the ‘On the Nail’ Literary Gathering’ as well as ‘Stanzas: An Evening of Words’ and reading her short fiction at the 'Chez le Fab Open Mic Nights'. Her prose fiction and non-fiction have also been published in the ‘Stanzas: An Evening of Words’ chapbook and 'Face Up Magazine

Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers. Even if you don't write you are welcome to bring something along to read. The night begins at 8.00pm and admission is free. So join us on the night and make this event something special.
